PILLARS OF A PERFECT NATION

There are many heroes existing in history or in current days . Many of them are known whereas others are not given any special recognition, they are called unsung heroes . Today I am honored to write about one of the unsung heroes. As a child we recognize a hero as a person with super powers , with immense strength but there is one quality that we missed out , that is , helping people or improving the society .

NURSE ROOPA PRAVEEN RAO , she is a nurse who worked in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district hospital . She worked days long for patients suffering from COVID-19 . She was a 9th month expectant and ‘Want to serve my people,’ with this thought in her mind she used to travel from Gajanuru village to Thirthahalli taluk, which takes her about an hour. While talking about her initiative she said “The hospital is surrounded by many villages, in these tough times, people need our service. My seniors had asked me to take leave but I want to serve my people at this point in time” . She was even praised by Karnataka’s chief minister BS Yediyurappa and even acknowledged her as a Covid-19 Warrior . The immense courage inspires us all .  Her selfless dedication to her work has won her many praises.

She is a strong lady ; she works for people . I am proud of being a part of a nation where people like Roopa exist and work selflessly . I don’t regard them as Covid warriors , I call them the pillars of a perfect nation .

 So Diwali is around the corner and we all are ready to celebrate it . We have bought new clothes , lights are gleaming , Diwali parties are up and most of all burning crackers is also an idea.
